Siliguri Gompa News and Pictures

05 December updates:

The work on Gompa land is moving fast, while there are 21 more days to go before the opening.

All the inside paintings have been completed a few days ago, this include the main hall walls as well as the statues. For more details refer to the pictures.

Drolo and Tsepame statue were being completed yesterday.

Buddha Sakyamuni statue is in place with its mandala completed on the ceiling.

The marble is being polished on the ground floor...half of it already shines white, so there is another half to go.

Two days ago the last three statues arrived from Bhutan: Nudan dorje, Guru dragpo and Amithaba. They will have to be filled with zung and painted within the next few days.

The outer wall of the gompa have received their first layer of white paint while the top roof has now been painted yellow...

One more layer needs to be applied...The road leading to the gompa is being straighten up in order to be in axis with the perspective...and many more details here and there are being taken care of...as the staircase ramp...the mosaic floor on the top floor...and so on...

Regarding the visit of the Karmapa...we all wish that this no news situation is good news...while people in the surrounding region start to seriously enquire.

Alexis.
