Four Foundation of Mindfulness: a dzogchen perspective.

With James Low

Saturday 16 January 10.00 – 5.00 p.m (approx)

Sunday 17 January 10.00 – 1.00 p.m

The Buddha’s teachings on mindfulness are set out in the Satipatthana Sutta which is contained in the Majjhima Nikaya (Middle Length Sayings) of the Pali Canon and also the Mahasatipatthana Sutta of the Digha Nikaya (Long Discourses of the Buddha), as well occurring elsewhere in the scriptures.

Over recent years a practice of mindfulness has been incorporated into behavioural medicine and appears as an integral part of certain psychotherapeutic approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) which is a development of cognitive behavioural therapy.

To these foundational practices of Buddhism James brings the perspective of the highest teaching and practice of dzogchen, as well as his experience and expertise as a practicing and training psychotherapist, in what should be an intriguing and highly rewarding weekend.
